The Property Transfer Process: What New Buyers Need to Know
The transfer of ownership is the final hurdle in your home-buying journey. Here is a simplified guide to the process at the Land Office.
Document Verification: Verify all original title deeds and contracts with the seller and your bank representative.
Application Submission: Submit the transfer request at the Provincial Land Office where the property is registered.
Fee Assessment: The land officer calculates transfer fees, withholding tax, and stamp duty or specific business tax.
Payment & Signing: Pay the required fees and sign the official Sale and Purchase Agreement in the presence of the officer.
Deed Collection: Once processed, you will receive the original Title Deed (Chanote) with your name officially recorded on the back.
